Rebecca Carrington

Rebecca Carrington was born into a family of classical musicians. Her grandmother was an exceptional cellist, who was one of very few female cellists to study with the internationally celebrated cellist, Emmanuel Feuermann. Rebecca is also the daughter of Simon Carrington, a British conductor and founder of the vocal ensemble the King’s Singers.

Rebecca herself is a classically trained cellist & singer, who won a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, UK and to Rice University in Houston, USA, where she completed a Master of Music. Whilst in the USA, Rebecca discovered stand up comedy and decided to combine it with her vocal and cello talents. She soon began performing in clubs like the New York Comedy Club or the Comedy Store in L.A.

In the UK she played with most of the leading orchestras including the London Symphony, London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, the BBC Symphony and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. It was during this time that conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Claudio Abbado & Neemi Järvi, encouraged her to spring out of the orchestra and on to the stage!

As a freelance cellist she also recorded on such film sound tracks as “Lord of the Rings”, “Harry Potter”, “Gangs of New York” and “Hannibal.” She also performed at the “BRITS 2006” with Kanye West and has performed and recorded with various Pop Artists such as Jill Scott, David Byrne, Paul Mcartney and Aretha Franklin.

In the US, NBC and CBS recorded Rebecca’s solo program, and she had her own show on National Public Radio (NPR). In the UK she was featured on ITV, Channel 4, Paramount, BBC Radio 2, 3, 4, BBC Scotland and LBC. She performed live in London at the Soho Theatre, Royal Court and The Playhouse, among others. She was awarded The South East Music Scheme Award in 2004 and the coveted German Prix Pantheon in 2007.

After selling out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2004 & 2005 Rebecca became a full time music comedian taking her one woman show all over Europe before she developed the Duo Carrington-Brown with her husband, Colin Brown.

Since their first show in 2007 they have written a total of eight shows together, including an orchestra show “Comedy meets Classics” and an Operetta, “Turnadot” for 2 people and a cello! The latter was commissioned by the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele in 2019. Even though they continue to be very much in demand as a duo, Rebecca is also returning to her roots to perform with Joe, the cello, “Me & My Cello” in English, German and French!

Martina Colli

I’m an Italian composer, pianist and arranger. I compose music for films, documentaries, theatre and dance productions and I work as a repetiteur with different solists and ensemble.

I started playing piano as a child. Following my persistent passion for music, I was awarded numerous prizes in national and international piano competitions. Alongside taking my Master Piano Degree, I explored the language of jazz and contemporary music that led me to the study of composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, where I devoted myself to the production of electronic music and music for film. I had the privilege of learning film scoring at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana from Academy Award winner Luis Bacalov. My latest works include the original score for the Italian feature film OLTRE LA BUFERA and LA PORTA SUL BUIO by Marco Cassini. In 2020 I published my third Album „Riding Americas“ that includes my arrangements for piano 4 hands of three classical orchestral pieces.
